Maria H. (Camara) Ferreira

Maria H. (Camara) Ferreira, age 79 of Berkley, passed away on December 27, 2024 at Marian Manor with her loving family by her side.

She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Pacheco Ferreira who passed in 2020.

Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, the daughter of the late John and Ilda (Moniz-DaSilva) Camara.

Before retiring, Maria was employed with the former Anderson Little for many years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the children, as she played a big role in many of their lives, raising many of them throughout the years.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking as there was always a fresh home cooked meal prepared daily along with some sort of delicious pastry for dessert.  Maria always kept a meticulous home, and she was an amazing seamstress.  She was loved and respected by all, and will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Ferreira is survived by her loving children; Arthur Ferreira, Jr and wife Sandra of Charlton, MA, Joshua Ferreira and his wife Jessica of Berkley, Elizabeth Fratalia and her husband Antonio of Assonet, and Sandi Ferreira of San Diego CA. She was grandmother to Allen, Sofia, Nathan, Lucas and Amelia, and she had many nieces and nephews. Maria was the sister of Zelia DeSousa of East Taunton, Odette Moniz of Dudley, MA and Joanne Machado of East Taunton. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Camara.

Mrs. Ferreira’s funeral will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 8:30am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home on Thursday, January 2nd from 3 to 7pm.
