Maria Carmina Leal, age 89 of Taunton, passed away on July 21, 2023 at Saint Anne’s Hospital.

Maria was born in Lajes Terceira, Azores, the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Leal.

Maria enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, and baking. Although she would describe her sewing as a hobby she was a talented seamstress. She would never turn down a Dunkin Donuts, French Cruller. Watching her Telenovelas was something she wouldn’t miss.

Mrs. Leal is survived by her loving son, Abilio Cunha and his wife Nizalda of Taunton. Grandmother to Dalila Dacey, her husband Ryan Dacey of Taunton. Isaac Cunha, his wife Jessica Cunha of Taunton. Great-grandmother to Aaden Dacey, Avery Dacey, and Mia Cunha.  Sister of the late Rogerio Leal and Rosa Valadao. She was also sister to Adriano Leal and his wife Teresa Leal of Taunton.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held at 8:00 am on Friday July, 28, 2023 at Silva’s Funeral Home- 80 Broadway, Taunton. Christian Mass to follow at Saint Anthony’s Church- 126 School Street, Taunton at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
