Maria (Pereira) Leandres

TAUNTON - Maria (Pereira) Leandres, wife of the late Antonio C. Leandres, died at her Raynham home on April 13, 2016.
She was 79.
Born in Santa Maria, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Sousa Pereira and Angelina Chaves Figueiredo.
Maria moved to the United States in 1980 and settled in Hudson.
She had also resided in Brockton and Taunton for several years before moving to Raynham in 1998.
A retired factory worker, she had been employed many years by Acme Boots.
In her spare time, Mrs. Leandres loved gardening, crocheting, cooking and making bread.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves seven sons, Daniel Leandres and his wife Jennifer of Middleboro, Alfredo Leandres and his wife Jessica, David Leandres and his wife Dora, John Leandres and his wife Fatima, Luis Leandres and his wife Grace, Silvino Leandres and his wife Ednea, all of Taunton, Manuel Leandres and his wife Ines of Hudson; 3 daughters, Zelia Torres and her husband Steve, Elidora Goulart, and Leonor Melo and her husband Manuel, all of Ontario, Canada; a sister, Eugenia Figueiredo Pereira of the Azores; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Jose Figueiredo Pereira.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, April 18th at 8 a.m. followed by her funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday April 17th from 4 to 7 p.m.
