Maria T. (Lima) Melo, age 76 of Taunton, passed away on June 11, 2026 at Rhode Island Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jaime Mallo and the late Humberto Machado.
Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, the daughter of the late Joao and Balbina (Bento) Lima.
Maria enjoyed reading, watching the Portuguese channel on TV, shopping, traveling to the Azores, most of all she loved spending time with family who she was so proud of.
Maria is survived by her loving children, Nuno Machado and his wife Melissa of Berkley, Sonia Feliciano and her husband Paulo of Middleboro, Susana Pereira and her husband Jose of Taunton, Sandra Amorim and her husband Mark of NH and Venilde Pacheco and her husband Jose of RI, grandmother of 15, great-grandmother of 6. She was the sister of Francisco Lima, Altobias Lima, Maria Lima, Ana Maria Correira and Venilde Miranda. Maria was the sister of the late Manuel, Carlos and Joao Lima.
Maria’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 8:30am from the silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 16 th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
