Maria Helena (Motta) Lira, age 82 of Taunton, Passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 in Morton Hospital.
Mrs. Lira was born in Portugal, a daughter of the late Jose and Marinha (Ferreira) Motta.
Before retirement, Maria was employed with the former Frank Noone Shoe Co for many years.
Maria enjoyed gardening, loved vacations, most of all cherished every minute spent with her family.
She was the loving mother of Luis Lira and wife Jeanie, Jose Lira and wife Lisa and Walter Lira all of Taunton, brother of Ferdinando Motta and Maria Abreau both of Taunton. She leaves five grandchildren, Marina, Michael Joseph, Katelyn Mary, Matthew and Michael J. as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lira's funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 9 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Anthony Church, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
