Maria Bernadete (DaRosa) Moitoso, age 94 of Taunton, passed away on May 16, 2024 at Morton Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Moitoso.
Born in Faial, Azores, Maria was the daughter of the late Francisco and Filomena (Augusta) DaRosa.
Maria immigrated to America with her family in November of 1961. Before retiring in 1990, Mrs. Moitoso was employed with Aluchen Aluminum as an inspector. She enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maria is survived by her loving children; Maria Olivia Correia and her husband Anthony, Maria De Lurdes Resendes and her late husband Antonio, Maria Manuela Vieira and her husband Francisco and Robert Moitoso and his wife Ana, all of Taunton. She was the grandmother of Lisa Faria, Anthony Correia, Cynthia Casilli, Michelle Lacerda, Scott Resendes, Robert Moitoso, Eric Vieira, Amanda Clinch, Katelyn Stanley, and Derek Moitoso, and great-grandmother of sixteen. She was the sister of Albert DaRosa of Taunton as well as sister of the late Francisco DaRosa, Jose DaRosa, Manuel DaRosa and the late Filomena Norte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 9am in Saint Anthony's Church, School Street in Taunton. Relatives and friends may meet directly at church at 8:45am.
Internment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 20th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
