Maria (Tavares) Pereira, age 86, passed away on May 5, 2020 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Pereira.
Maria was born in Feteiras Du Sul, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jacinto Carvalho Tavares and Maria Filomena Tavares.
Mrs. Pereira worked for Joseph F. Cochran Shoe Co. and later for Copper Craft Guild for approximately fifteen years. She was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church. She took pleasure in gardening and cooking wonderful meals for her family. She especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her large family. She wasn’t a world traveler, but loved visiting Maine and Cape Cod with her family.
Mrs. Pereira is survived by her loving children ; three sons; Constantino (Tino) Pereira of Berkley, Luis Pereira and his wife, Raquel, of Taunton, Joseph Pereira and his wife, Linda, of Berkley; two daughters, Cidalia (Cid) Nerenberg and her husband, Etgar, of Milton, and Cecilia Matuszek of Berkley; six grandchildren, Kenneth Pereira and his wife Sharon of Taunton, Nicholas Pereira of Raynham, Nathaniel Pereira and his fiancée Deanna Duncan of Dighton, Trever Pereira of Taunton, Amanda Matuszek of Seekonk, Julia Nerenberg of Milton; 4 great grandchildren, Kody Pereira and Kourtney Pereira, both of Taunton, Bryson Duncan-Pereira of Dighton, Jaxxon Pereira of Raynham: and many nieces and nephews.
Maria’s funeral service will be held privately with the Silva Funeral Home of Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
