Maria T. (Costa) Silveira

Maria Teresa (Costa) Silveira, age 75 of Taunton, passed away on April 13, 2026 at Life Care of Raynham with her loving family by her side.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Silveira.

Born in Faial, Azores, the daughter of the late Manuel and Francisca (Andrade) Costa.

Before retiring, Mrs. Silveira was employed with Talbots.

She enjoyed singing and dancing. Maria was also in a Portuguese theatre group in the 1970’s and 80’s.

Maria is survived by her loving siblings, Manuel costa and his wife Margarida of CA, Maria Lourdes DaRosa and her late husband Manuel of Canada, Humberto Costa and his wife Linda of Taunton and Zelia Costa and her wife Martha Januse also of Taunton. She was the aunt of Jorge DaRosa and Joe DaRosa. Godmother of Kathleen Grota and Matthew Ventura. She was also the sister of the late Jose Costa.

Maria’s funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 10am with a service to begin at 11am in the chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
