Marie (Liaknickas) Gannon, age 60, of Taunton, passed away on May 29, 2024 at Morton Hospital.

She was the wife of Michael Gannon.

Born in Quincy, MA, Marie was the daughter of the late Frank and Carol (Lee) Liaknickas.

Marie was raised in Stoughton with her three siblings and parents. She attended the Stoughton school system and met her future husband Mike in 1981 working at McDonalds.  Marie attended the Southeastern Technical School’s  two year tech program learning Computer Science. She graduated  #1 in her class and was promptly hired by Balfour in Attleboro where she worked for four years.  Mike and Marie were married in June 1985 and resided in Raynham for five years. Marie changed jobs in the late 80’s working for United Liquors as a Systems Analyst for 5 years, then moving to Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare where she was eventually promoted to manager of a 15 person team of application developers. Marie retired to a life of Homemaker when her twins were born in 2004. Mike and Marie have resided in Taunton since buying their home in 1990.

Marie enjoyed traveling, sports and spending time with her kids Reece and Olivia. Fishing was her favorite pastime, disappearing for hours when at the family cottage in Falmouth. She was active in the KPMM twins club and Taunton Moms Club in the kid’s early years.. She cheered her kids on through many years of Soccer, Basketball, Field Hockey and Lacrosse.

Besides her beloved husband Mike of 39 years, she is survived by her children; Reece Gannon, Olivia Gannon, sisters; Karen Dinger and her husband Dave, Laura Hall and her husband Bob and Paul Liaknickas. Marie is also survived by many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 11am in Saint Jude the Apostle Church, 249 Whittenton Street in Taunton.

Interment will be held privately.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 1 to 4pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
