Marie E. (Blow) Medeiros, age 99, of Taunton, previously of Dighton, passed away on the evening of Thursday, July 11, 2024, at RegalCare of Taunton. She was the devoted wife of the late Everett M. Santos and the late Edward Medeiros.

Born in Eastry, Kent, England, Marie was one of three children born to the late George W. and Agnes M. L. (Biggs) Blow. She grew up in Deal, Kent, England, coming to the United States of America as a war bride in 1946 after marrying Everett Santos. Marie remained a proud British citizen throughout her life.

During World War II, Marie was evacuated from her hometown of Deal, England as part of Operation Pied Piper and lived in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. After completing her secondary education, Marie moved to London to support the Allies’ war effort working in a factory repairing radios which she did until VE Day. For many years, she also worked as a packer at Princess House, Inc. in Taunton.

Without fail, Marie paused every afternoon for a cup of tea. She enjoyed spending time with friends, singing in the choir, knitting with her group of Knit Wits, taking ceramics classes, learning about the world through the National Geographic channel and magazine, cooking, and tending to her flowers. A woman of deep faith and spirituality, Marie was a congregant of West Congregational Church in Taunton at the time of her passing.
