Marie Louisane Taverne, age 84 of Taunton, passed away on March 25, 2025 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital after a short illness with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Taverne.
Born on November 4, 1940 in the town of Arniquet, Southern Haiti, she was the beloved daughter of the late Victor Joseph and Eurese (Numa) Joseph.
Known for her warm personality, compassion and love for people, Louisane had the greatest gift of making everyone feel welcome. She was a selfless homemaker who dedicated to her family's well being. She was a pillar of strength and support for her family and friends, as well a source of wisdom and encouragement. She will be remembered by all those who knew her in the community as being a generous, positive and God loving woman. In her spare time Louisane loved to read her bible, listen to Christian radio shows, share stories with her friends and send them words of encouragement through WhatsApp. She had an unwavering passion for word search. Above all she was a devout believer and prayer warrior. Even in the face of hardship or death, she remained faithful and believed with God all things are possible.
Louisane is survived by her cherished daughters; Georgia Taverne-Loubeau and husband Kenny Loubeau, Geaurettie Taverne and husband Jean-Pierre Menelas, Suze Taverne and husband Mukunayi Mpoy, Claude Taverne and husband Idanes Ingignac, her beloved sons Marc Arthur Taverne and wife Maude Damas, Berthony Taverne and wife Nancy Bouloute, Hugsvald Joseph and wife Lucette Favard, Piterson Vilpigue and wife Roshelle Burton-Vilpigue, her cherished grandchildren; Brandon, Marlon, Boris, Marikah and husband Mario, Alisha, Chloe, Nathaniel, Bahamia and husband Mark, Sasha, Karly, Kaya, Nala, Neyo, Lugujie, Naoud, Huedjie, her nephews Paul , Gardy, Pierre Michel, Mario Remy and niece Gladys. She was the sister of the late Frenel Joseph and Alphonse Joseph.

Louisane's funeral will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 9:00 am in Christ Community Church, 41 Stevens Street, East Taunton. Relatives and friends can meet directly at church.
Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 4th from 5 to 8 pm in the Silva funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton.
