Mario Diogo

TAUNTON - Mario C. Diogo, husband of Mary Jo (Duarte) Diogo, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on July 10, 2010.
He was 70 years old.
Born in Fornas de Algodes, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria do Patrocinia Diogo Fernandes.
Raised and educated in Portugal, Mr. Diogo served in the Portuguese Army before moving to the U.S. in 1963.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church in Taunton, he worked for the Walk-Over Shoe Co. of Bridgewater for over 20 years.
Mr. Diogo enjoyed spending time at his summer home on Cape Cod and fishing with his grandchildren.
He also enjoyed tools and working with his hands.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves a son, Daniel P. Diogo of Raynham; a daughter, Lisa M. Lima and her husband John of Lakeville; a brother, Ezequiel Diogo of Taunton; two sisters, Maria Manuela Fernandes of Pawtucket, RI and Maria Delfina Fernandes of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Austin and Dimitri Diogo of Raynham, and Joshua and Elisa Lima of Lakeville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Jose Diogo.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway Taunton on Wednesday, July 14th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church, Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 13th from 5 to 8 p.m.
