Mary C. "Nanny" (Bulcao) Medeiros

TAUNTON - Mary C. "Nanny" (Bulcao) Medeiros, wife of the late Jose Francisco Medeiros, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on Nov. 27, 2010.
She was 79.
Born in Fayal, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Julia (DaSilva) Bulcao.
Raised and educated in the Azores, Mrs. Medeiros moved to the Taunton area in 1959.
She worked for the former Taunton Dress Company as a stitcher, and was later employed as a cafeteria worker by Taunton State Hospital.
She retired many years ago.
Mrs. Medeiros was a communicant of St. Anthony Church, and enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary L. Sousa and her husband Joseph of Taunton; two grandchildren, Robin Hillman and her husband Bryce of Norton, and Kristin Sousa of Franklin; two great grandchildren, Emma and Hannah Hillman, both of Norton; two brothers, Luis Bulcao of Alberta, Canada and Francisco Silveira of NH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the grandmother of the late Tracy Sousa, and the sister of the late Julia DaSilva, Filomena Silva, and Emelia Faria.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Dec. 1st at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 30th from 5 to 8 p.m.
