TAUNTON - Mary (Machado) Couto, wife of the late Manuel Inacio do Couto, died at Morton Hospital on Jan. 22, 2010.
She was 90.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Pereira) Machado.
Educated in Portugal, she moved to the Taunton area in 1963.
She was employed as a cafeteria worker by the Paul A. Dever School for over 25 years, retiring in 1984.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mrs. Couto enjoyed sewing and knitting.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Cabral and her husband Fernando of Taunton; a sister, Evelyn Teixeira of Taunton; three grandchildren, Paul and Louis Falcao of Taunton, and Linda Araujo and her husband Nelson of E. Taunton; six great grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
She was also the mother of the late Zelia Falcao.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Tuesday, Jan. 26th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 25th from 5 to 8 p.m.
