Mary Dupont

Mary C. (Williams) Dupont, age 81 of Taunton, passed away on February 25, 2018 at Falmouth Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of 60 years of the late Louis Dupont, Sr who passed in 2017.

Mary was born in Taunton, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Smith) Williams.

Mrs. Dupont is survived by her children, Dianne Dupont and her wife, Jane Schmidt of Plano, TX; Louis Dupont Jr. and his wife Lynn of North Dighton, Neil Dupont and his wife Sharon of Mashpee and her son- in-law, Joseph DeSousa of Taunton.  She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Doreen DeSousa.  She is the grandmother of Jillian, Aaron, Kevin, Neil Jr, Kyle and Makenzie. She was also the sister of Joan Silva of Taunton and the late John Williams, Jr.  Mary also leaves many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Before retirement, Mrs. Dupont was employed at Brown University as an Administrative Assistant for 10 years, prior to that she worked as a Bank Manager with Bay Bank and Plymouth Home National.

She enjoyed travel and volunteering for St Vincent de Paul.  Mary was truly a warm and compassionate person who loved being with people, especially her family, friends and beloved grandpets.

Mary was an active parishioner of the former Immaculate Conception Church, a past president of the Woman’s Guild, and actively involved with the Parish Council, the choir and the finance committee.

Mrs. Dupont's funeral will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018  at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Anthony Church, School St, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held in the Silva Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28th from 4 to 7pm.
