Mary H. (Cambra) Corey age 96 of Dighton passed away peacefully on  September 27, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Antone S. Corey for 54 years.

Born on her grandparents farm in Dighton on January 28th, 1928, She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Phoebe (Duarte) Cambra.

After WWII she married her sweetheart at St. Peter’s Church in Dighton. They lived in Taunton for a short time until their home was built and became lifelong residents of Dighton. After attending schools in Dighton and being a new wife, Mary continued helping out on her grandparent’s farm and working as a seamstress.

Mary loved to cook and to sew, she took pictures of everything she enjoyed. Her photo albums include those of her garden and loved ones, with little notes on the back of each picture expressing her thoughts of that day. She loved to tell the stories of her life. Some of her favorite memories included her annual trips to the Mohawk Trail with her husband Tony, playing with the sled her grandfather made for her, and of course her wedding day. She was so happy to be able to tell us about what a wonderful life she lived.

Mary loved life and giving. She was kind and graceful. Mary would encapture you during visits or phone calls and make the hours feel like minutes. Her home always had a warm and inviting aura, always making sure to have treats to give you on your way out. She truly loved her visits with Tyler and Calvin. She referred to them as “The apple of her eye” and loved being called Grandma Mary.

Mary was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church and St. Nicholas of Myra in No. Dighton.

Mary leaves behind Tracy, who was like a daughter to her, and Leo Teixeira of Fall River. Tyler and Calvin Teixeira of Fall River, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and neighbors. Mary was the sister of the late Helen Cambra of Dighton.
