Mary P. (Banana) Pacheco, age 85 of Taunton, passed away on June 5, 2026 at her
residence with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late John Pacheco.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores the daughter of the late John and Stella (Cabral) Banana.
Before retiring, Mrs. Pacheco was employed with Massachusetts School as a seamstress.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, loved long drives and trips with her late husband, vacations to Portugal and spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her siblings, Stella Pigney, Fatima Madeira, Albino Banana, Carlos Banana, Jose Banana all of Taunton, John Banana of Canada, Tony Banana of Azores, and Gilbert Banana of RI. Mary leaves behind many nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. She was the step- mother of Edward Pacheco of FL, Jonny Pacheco of Taunton and the late Patsy Pacheco. She was also the sister of the late Isaura Calheta.
Mrs. Pacheco’s funeral with visitation will be held on Thursday at 8am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
