Mary Jo ( Leite) Morgado, age 73 of Taunton, passed away on September 27, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was the wife of Mario Morgado.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Carmelita ( Medeiros) Leite.
Mary Jo was educated in Portugal. She came to this country and worked in shoe factories, was an etcher for Princess House then retired from Haskon in Taunton.
She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, scrolling facebook, watching Hallmark movies, baking, making facetime calls to her grandchildren, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Besides her beloved husband Mario of 55 years she is survived by her daughter Susy Paiva and husband Jose, son; Tommy Morgado, sisters; Odilia Couto and husband Phil, Mary Lou Rezendes and husband John, grandchildren; Kyle Tavares, Destiny Tavares, Evan Morgado, Landon Morgado, Jose Paiva, Jessica Paiva, great grandchildren; Harry, Isla, Rosie, daughter-in-law Stacie Morgado and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late David Leite and Connie Leite and the grandmother of the late Joao Tavares Jr.
Mary Jo’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 8:00am from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary Square) Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church, 499 Spring St. Dighton.
Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Visiting Hours will be held on October 1, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway ( at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
