Michael A. Pacheco, Sr., age 46, longtime resident of Taunton, passed away suddenly on the morning of Friday, October 18, 2024, at Morton Hospital in Taunton.
Born in Cambridge, Michael was the only son and youngest of three children born to Antonio Pacheco and the late Beatriz (Furtado) Pacheco. He grew up in Taunton and attended Taunton Public Schools.
A man with a great work ethic, Michael was a self-employed Entrepreneur. He demonstrated commitment and hard work in his career. In his younger years he was a member of Pipefitter Local 537 in Boston.
At the heart of Michael's personality were traits that made him truly one of a kind. He possessed a heart of gold, a spirit full of kindness and an unwavering dedication to help others. His warmth and generosity of spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, Michael was a man who loved life and pursued a range of hobbies and interests. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, spending countless hours riding as both an adult and child. He was a devoted fan of sports, especially rooting for the Celtics and Patriots. Not only did Michael have an eye for fashion, but his stylish outfits reflected his vibrant personality. He also liked to get away on cruises and listen to music of all varieties. Above all, Michael cherished the time spent and memories made with his dear family, especially his one and only child and son, Mikey, who was a shining light in his life.
In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his proud and cherished son: Michael A. Pacheco, Jr.; his treasured sisters, Michelle Roy and her husband Jerry (Taunton Police Department) and Adriana Oliveira and her late husband Joao; his nephews: Christopher Oliveira, Eric Peters, Jr., Nicholas Bagge (Taunton Police Department), and Alexander Roy; his niece, Michaela Melo and her husband Ricardo; his great nephew: Trae Peters; his great nieces: Niyah Santos and Isabele Peters; and also many extended family members and countless friends.
Michael’s funeral will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of his soul at 10am in Saint Anthony Church, School Street, Taunton. Interment will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, where Michael will be laid to rest with his late mother.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 4pm-7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
