SWANSEA - Michael A. Williams, the husband of the late Joan H. (Duckworth) Williams, died at his Swansea home on Oct. 2, 2009.
He was 72.
Born in San Diego, CA, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Anna (Hart) Williams, Jr. He moved with his family to the Fall River area, where he received his early education and graduated from the former Prevost High School in 1954.
A graduate of Emerson College, he received a degree in creative writing in 1959, and was later employed by the Taunton Daily Gazette, where he worked as a reporter for over 28 years, retiring in 1988.
Survivors include a son, Michael A. Williams, Jr. of Taunton; and two grandsons, John P. Daniel B. Williams, both of Germany; and close friends Brenda and John Eastman of Swansea.
Calling hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Oct. 6th from 5 to 8 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Cremation will take place at Woodlawn Crematory in Attleboro.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.
