TAUNTON- M. Natalia Pinarreta, age 80, of Taunton, passed away on the evening of Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Morton Hospital in Taunton, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of her family. She was the devoted wife of the late Luis M. Pinarreta, who passed away in 2006.
Born in Povoação, Sao Miguel, Azores, Natalia was one of seven children born to the late Jose and Beatriz (Amaral) Pimental. She was raised and grew up in the Azores. In 1973, Natalia, along with her husband and children immigrated to the United States, settling in Taunton.
For 25 years, Natalia worked as a Machine Operator for Texas Instruments in Attleboro. She had a wonderful career at Texas Instruments, retiring when she was 55 years of age.
Natalia was an active parishioner at St. Anthony Church, where she volunteered for many church functions.
In her spare time, she had a variety of hobbies and interests. Natalia enjoyed knitting and crocheting pieces of clothing for her family. She was a talented cook, creating delicious dishes for all to taste. She had a “green thumb” which she put to good use by growing and tending to her beautiful garden full of flowers. Above all, she cherished the time spent and memories made with her dear family, especially her grandchildren.
Natalia is survived by her cherished children: Lubelia Rodrigues and her husband Antonio, Jose Brandao and his wife Kathy, and Maria Brandao; her four grandchildren: Kyle Rodrigues, Sr., and his wife Jamie, Shane Rodrigues, Aaron Brandao, and Jillian K. Brandao; her two great-grandchildren: Kyle Rodrigues, Jr., and Leeana Rodrigues; her siblings: Laudoalina Pinarreta, Lurdes DeMedeiros, Maria Pimental, Ana Camara, John Pimental, and Jose Pimental; and also countless nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Natalia’s funeral will be held on Saturday , January 6, 2024, at 7:45am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Anthony Church, 126 School St., Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday , January 5, 2024 from 5 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
