Otis
DaRosa
d. Sep 11, 2025
Taunton, MA
Otis was our soul dog.
For nearly 11 years, he was so much more than our dog. He was our baby, our protector, our constant, and one of the greatest loves of our lives.
Otis came into our lives when we were 19 years old, and he grew with us through some of the most important years of our lives. He was there through the laughter, the tears, the changes, the hard times, and all the moments in between. He became a part of who we are.
He taught us so much about love—about being present, unconditional, loyal, and selfless. Otis was unbelievably protective of us and took his job as our protector very seriously while also being the sweetest boy with the biggest heart.
He gave the best cuddles, the best slobbery kisses, and somehow always knew when we needed him most. When we cried, he would lick our tears, as if he could somehow make everything better. And most of the time, he did.
There are countless memories that will forever have Otis in them. He was one of the most important parts of our life. He witnessed us grow, change, and become the people we are today.
Losing him has left an emptiness that words cannot describe but beneath the heartbreak is immense gratitude for every year, every cuddle, every laugh, every kiss and every single moment in between that we were lucky enough to call him ours.
Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart. A soul dog leaves a piece of themselves there forever.
Otis was our soul dog. Our boy. Our protector. Our baby.
We love him, miss him, and will carry him with us for the rest of our lives.
Until we meet again, Otis Bum.
