Pedro C. Moniz, age 93 of Taunton, passed away on December 31, 2024 at Morton Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Maria E. (Serodio) Moniz
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Francisco and Silvana (Costa) Moniz
Before retiring, Mr. Moniz was employed with the former Babs Foundry. Mr. Moniz came to the United States in 1977
Pedro was very proud of his Portuguese heritage, he enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, making wine and most of all was a loving and caring person who was devoted to his family.
Besides his beloved wife Maria of over 61years, Pedro is survived by his loving children, Joe Moniz and wife Manuela and Jenny Matos and husband Jack all of Taunton, grandfather of Kevin Moniz and wife Rachel, Danny Correia, great-grandfather of Alanna Correia, Liam Moniz and Mia Moniz, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Moniz was also the brother of the late Ortenca, Manuel, Jose, Luis, Marcelino, Valentina, Alvarinho, Maria and Armezinda.
Mr. Moniz’s funeral will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 5th from 2 to 5 pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
