Our beautiful and very goodest boy, Petey arrived in our lives with his lovely littermate sister Livy as a four year old who had served his life as a breeding dog at a Golden Doodle Farm. Since that moment, he was the center of our home and brought joy and comfort to us during good times and challenging times. He would never wander and always followed right behind my feet wherever we went, refusing to walk in front of or even beside me for any reason. He stared at me around the clock, even when I would wake at night, he would already be looking at me. He tried to chase puppies that were on the tv the first time he saw a tv, and he lost his mind the first time he saw his brother Chance (a lab) swim, and he jumped in the water to join him “back feet first” like a human would. He had never swam, ridden in a car, or walked in the woods before joining our family,  so he was very puppy like. Being the grounding element for his adoring sister, Livy, she misses her bother terribly and she has suffered since his passing. Losing him uncentered us more than we thought it would. He was diagnosed with an inoperable mass in his colon in February of 2026, and we spent the last months of his life keeping him comfortable and reminding how very loved he was, . Livy, Jim, Jojo, and Sweetie myself were by his side when he passed at home in his bed. He was buried in a wooden casket with his favorite blanket, baby and in his sweater. We miss our boy every day, and we look for signs of him always.
