Phyllis (Crossley) Briggs, age 91 of Sandwich, formerly of Taunton, Swansea and Dighton, passed away on January 7, 2019 at the Falmouth Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard S. Briggs.
Phyllis was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late John R. and Estella (Cuttler) Crossley.
Phyllis was a 1948 graduate of Truesdale School of Nursing.
Before retiring, Mrs. Briggs was employed with Taunton State Hospital and with Elder Outreach Services in the Taunton Area as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed Cape Cod beaches, walking with her late dog Bandit, and most of all cherished time spent with her family.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children; Peter J. Briggs and his wife Becky of Wilmington, MA, Amy M. Briggs, M. Jane Catone and her late husband Ronald all of Sandwich, Ma, grandmother of Sara Briggs, Karen Briggs, Cheryl Fay and husband Sean, great-grandmother of Colin, Norah, Ronnie and Jessie, great-great grandmother of Armani, as well as several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was also the sister of the late Estelle Morgan.
A private service and burial will be held at a later date in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton, MA
