Prudence Smith

Prudence D. (Alegi) Smith, age 85, of Taunton, passed away on July 15, 2017 at Marian Manor Nursing Home.

She was the beloved wife of the late Perry R. Smith.

Prudence was born in Taunton , a daughter of the late Amedo and Fortunata ( Palazzi ) Alegi.

Before retirement, Mrs. Smith was employed as a secretary with Taunton High School , she was also a waitress with the former Gondola Restaurant.

Prudence was a communicant of Annunication of the Lord Church where she was a member of the Womans Guild. She enjoyed walking in the Mall and having coffee with her dear friends. Most of all She was a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family.

She was the loving mother of Gail Semas and husband Tony of Taunton, Sister of Ada Violett, Liberty Flannery both of Taunton, Grandmother of Brad Semas, Kim Emond and husband Kris, Great-Grandmother of Kristin and Erica, Great-Great Grandmother of Lincoln and Jefferson. She was also the mother of the late Perry J. Smith and the late Shelley Smith, sister of the late Americo Alegi and the late Elena Dennen

Mrs. Smith's funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 8:45 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Annunciation of the Lord Church First St, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18th from 4 to 7pm.
