Raymond G. Balelo, Jr

TAUNTON - Raymond G. Balelo, Jr. lost a long courageous battle with cancer on April 23, 2012 at the McCarthy Care Center in E. Sandwich.
He was 57.
Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of Margaret (Mele) Balelo of Taunton, and the late Raymond G. Balelo.
A 1972 graduate of Taunton High School, Ray later received a BS degree in architectural engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
A licensed contractor, he started his own successful business, R.E.M. Construction.
Ray enjoyed all sports, frequently attending Pawtucket Red Sox and Providence Bruins games with his close friends.
He enjoyed music and spending time with his family and friends.
Besides his mother, Ray leaves a his longtime companion, Sherrie A. Roza of Taunton; a daughter, Christal Balelo of N. Attleboro; a brother, Richard J. Balelo of Somerset; three sisters, Sandra J. Feeney of Taunton, Laurie Orsini of WI and Linda A. Balelo of Raynham.
Ray also shared a very special bond with his nephew, Michael Fox, and was the loving godfather and great uncle of Michael and Emily Fox.
Also surviving are special friends, Raven and Jen Davidson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Following cremation, Ray's family will receive visitors at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, May 1st from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Memorial Services will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
