Raymond Spencer Garner

d. April 19, 2018

Raymond Spencer Garner, 26, of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

Born in Attleboro, Ray was the beloved son of Linda (Savini) and Rene J Vadeboncoeur of Taunton and David Jay Garner and the late Anne Garner of West Bridgewater.

When Ray was just 8 years old, he followed the steps learned in his third grade fire safety class when he woke to realize that his house was on fire. He alerted his family in time for them all to escape safely and was presented the Young Hero Award from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts House of Representatives and State Senate and a Certificate of Recognition from the Mansfield Fire Department in 1999.

He went on to graduate from Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical High School, class of 2010, and graduated from Universal Technical Institute in 2011. For four years, Ray along with his father owned and operated Garner Enterprises, a landscaping and excavating company. Most recently, he was working for Breathe Eazy Restoration as a restoration technician.

Ray absolutely loved cars - especially BMWs - and owned many cars in his short lifetime. He was also passionate about music, fascinated by the lyrics representing the thoughts and feelings of the artists who wrote them. Cooking was special to him as well and it brought him joy creating recipes to feed (and impress!) his friends and family. Above all, Ray’s strongest trait was his kind heart and passion to help people. He cared so deeply about his friends and their well being; truly going out of his way to make sure everyone felt loved and cared for. His parents and step-parents were held in the highest regard and he was naturally the kind of son that was always protecting and supporting them.

Ray has touched countless lives in 26 years ~ he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Besides his parents, Ray is also survived by his grandparents, Marguerite Savini of Edgewater, FL, Rene and Theresa Vadeboncoeur of Taunton; and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was also grandson of the late Raymond Savini, Donald Garner and Kathleen Garner.

Following a private cremation, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday May 4th, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00pm at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, where his Memorial Service will take place at 7:30pm.

Please omit flowers. Donation in his memory to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated.
