Raymond Russell Pina

Raymond R. Pina, age 86 of North Dighton, formerly of Taunton, passed away on December 13, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of the late Joann Mary (Silvia) Pina.

Raymond was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Raymond L. and Laura (Grace) Pina.

Before retiring, Mr. Pina was employed as a truck driver for various companies. He also had his own trucking company, Pina Brothers Trucking. Raymond enjoyed going to the casino with his wife Joann and also loved riding on their Goldwing motorcycle. He was a proud Korean War Veteran serving as a Marine Sgt.  Raymond also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

Raymond is survived by his three sons; Russell A. Pina and his companion, Christine Rego, of Fall River, Donald W. Pina,and wife Lorri of N. Dighton, and Elliott J. Pina, and wife Claudia, of Taunton, grandfather of 3, great-grandfather of 2, step grandfather of 1, and step great grandfather of 2, and was the brother of Ronald Pina, of Reseda, CA and Brenda DePina, of Whitman, as well as  several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Santos and Carl Pina.

Mr.  Pina’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, December  16, 2020 at 9am followed by a funeral service to begin at 12 Noon in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
