Richard “White Eagle” D. Correia, 87, of Attleboro, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Attleboro HealthCare Center after a brief illness.

Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Rosalind (Mendoza) Correia.

Richard was a veteran of the Korean War, receiving an honorable discharge from the US Navy at the end of the war.

After attending Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA, he attended Rhode School of Design in Providence, RI, and worked as a quality control engineer for Sensors & Controls division of Texas Instruments in Attleboro, for his entire career.

Richard was given the name “White Eagle” by the Metis Tribe of Native Americans and participated in local Pow-Wows for many years, supporting First People culture in New England.

He lived in Liberty Estates in Attleboro for many decades, and most recently at Christopher Heights assisted living residences in Attleboro. He was a member of Good News Bible Chapel for many years.

At Richard’s request, there will be no funeral services. For over 40 years his wishes were to be donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton.
