Richard M. Medeiros, age 88 of Raynham, passed away on May 7, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of Arvilla (Harris) Medeiros.

Born in Taunton he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Arruda) Medeiros.

He was the manager of the Bacteriology Department at Mass General Hospital, Boston for 35 years. 

Richard was a talented artist whose home was adorned with his beautiful artwork. He enjoyed his vacations on Martha’s Vineyard and Dennisport in the summers. Richard also loved spending time outdoors, and took pride in maintaining a beautiful yard.

He was a lover of animals, especially his dogs.

Besides his wife Arvilla of 60 years, he is survived by his sons; Richard Medeiros and wife Lisa, Mark Medeiros and wife Cathy, grandchildren; Ava Medeiros, Austin Medeiros, Jake Medeiros, Ashley Medeiros and Bella Medeiros.

Richard’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 9am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton with a funeral home service to begin at 11am.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
