Richard T. Vincent

d. December 16, 2021

Richard (Dick) T. Vincent, age 84 of Taunton, passed away peacefully at his home, on December 16, 2021.

He was the beloved husband of the late Delores (Silva) Vincent. Dick was born in Taunton, the son of the late Joseph and Hilda (Travers) Vincent.

Dick is survived by his loving children; Richard J. Vincent of Attleboro, Pamela C. Charpentier of Plymouth, David P. Vincent of NYC, and Kathleen V. Maynard and husband, Michael of Taunton.  He was the grandfather of Sarah and Laura Vincent, Jake Charpentier, Ian and Rachael Maynard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vincent was also the brother of the late Joseph T. Vincent and the late Marie Costa.

Dick was a past president of the St Vincent DePaul, of both the Taunton district and his home parish of Holy Family. Among his many accomplishments as president of the SVDP, he was instrumental in the creation of the current home of the SVDP Ctr. In recognition of his many years of service, he was a recipient of the Marian Medal.

Dick worked for NE Telephone for over 30 years, retiring early in his life.  He was the chairman of the Bristol Plymouth Vocational Technical School Committee. In his retirement he dedicated much of his time to SVDP and helping others yet was able to also find time to enjoy travelling, spending time with friends, and watching his grandchildren grow. Dick also enjoyed the monthly singalong visits to nursing homes. Of course, there was always time for one of his favorite past times; eating ice cream.

Dick could be counted on for his easy smile and a kind word for everyone he encountered. If you met him, he considered you his friend.

Mr. Vincent’s funeral will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Ave. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 19th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to Holy Family Conference of St Vincent DePaul in Richard’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
