TAUNTON - Rita Frances (Dias) Savoy, 80, died at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston on Nov. 29, 2010.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and cousin.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Albertina (Gonsalves) Dias.
Raised and educated in Taunton, Rita was a Taunton High School graduate.
She was employed by the City of Taunton as a payroll advisor for many years, and after retiring, volunteered with the Dighton Lions Club, the Dighton Council on Aging, and Taunton State Hospital.
She was an avid reader who also enjoyed crafting and cooking.
Rita will be remembered for her commitment to her family, taking personal pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
She leaves three sons, Robert Dias and his companion Patricia Chapman of Mashpee, Mark and John "Jay" Savoy, both of Taunton; a daughter, Gina Alegria and her husband Scott of N. Dighton; a sister, Mary Webb; eight grandchildren, Shannon, Sherrin, Sharla, David, Marquee, Rachel, Sheenah and Aaryn; five great grandchildren, Travis, Tara, Zach, Jaydin and Rowan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Saturday, Dec. 4th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m.
