EAST TAUNTON - Robert M. Rodriques, husband of Nancy L. (Lopes) Rodriques, died at the Tippett Home in Needham on Jan. 27, 2010.
He was 75.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Kelley) Rodriques.
Raised and educated in Scituate, he later worked as a corrections officer at the Thomaston, Maine State Prison for over eighteen years, before being forced into retirement due to injuries sustained on duty.
Mr. Rodriques served in the Marine Corp Reserves many years ago.
A musician, Mr. Rodriques played the drums with The Five Kings, an ensemble which played throughout Mass. and New York areas.
A communicant of Holy Family Church in E. Taunton, he will be fondly remembered as a good husband, father, and grandfather.
He was also known for his cooking skills.
Besides his wife, he leaves 3 sons, Robert M. Rodriques, Jr. of Augusta, ME, Dana L. Rodriques of Chelsea, and John A. Rodriques of Taunton; 3 daughters, Donna M. Mendes and Deborah A. Rodriques, both of Taunton, and Nancy J. Rodriques of E. Taunton; a brother, Leroy J. Rodriques of Scituate; five sisters, Rita and Pauline Barrows, both of Scituate; Joyna Bozzotto of Hyde park; Gail Dombrowski of Swampscott and Theresa Childress of Memphis, TN; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Diana M. Rodriques.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at Holy Family Church, 370 Middleboro Ave. E. Taunton on Monday, Feb. 1st at 11 a.m.
