Rodrigo Alberto Pereira, age 88 of Taunton, passed away at his residence on February 15, 2022, with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Maria Isabel (Braga) Pereira.
Born in Cedros, Faial, Azores, Mr. Pereira was the son of the late Alberto and Rosa (Rodrigues) Pereira.
Before retiring, Rodrigo was employed with Specialty Garbage as a Sanitation Engineer in California.
He enjoyed watching soccer, especially his favorite team Sporting CP, the San Francisco 49ers and playing cards. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St Anthony’s Church Portuguese Choir.
In addition to his beloved wife Maria Isabel of over 26 years, Mr. Pereira is survived by his loving children; Carlos Pereira, Mary Pereira, Larry Pereira, Robert Pereira, Vicky McCall all of California, step-children, Helena Soares and Steven Ferreira both of Taunton. Grandfather of Nichole King, Nathan Medeiros, Brandon Pereira, Samantha Reyes, Travis Pereira, Kaitlyn Rousseau, Haley Pereira, Danielle Medeiros, Payton McCall, Regan McCall, Kieran McCall, and step-grandfather of Kaylee Ferreira, Andrew Alves and Marqus Bergantim, as well as great-grandfather of 12. He was the loving brother of the late Alberto Rodrigues, Jose Pereira, Antonio Pereira, Cecilia Freitas, and Religiosas do Bom Pastor Estela Pereira and Odilia Pereira.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 11:00 am in Saint Anthony’s Church, 126 School Street, Taunton. Relatives and friends may meet directly at the church at 10:45 am.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to St Anthony’s Church in Mr. Pereira’s memory would be appreciated.
