Roland G. Lecuyer, age 97, passed away on November 30, 2024 at Life Care of Raynham. Roland was born in Fall River on December 6th, 1926, and moved to Taunton at an early age.  He was the husband of the late Helen (Mocker) Lecuyer to whom he was married for 63 years.  After their marriage, Roland and Helen moved to Raynham to a home on South Main Street which Roland had built.

The son of the late William and Eveline (Belanger) Lecuyer, Roland was educated in Taunton schools.  He worked as a machinist at the Radiation Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and New England Tool and Die.  Roland continued his career working as a Tool and Die Supervisor at the Gillette Safety Razor Division in South Boston for 21 years.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in New Guinea and the Philippines attaining the rank of sergeant.  Roland was also a communicant of St. Ann’s church Raynham.  One of Roland’s hobbies was landscaping whose South Main Street home was on many annual Raynham garden tours.  In retirement, he became a gourmet cook and was also an avid woodworker and furniture builder.  He also enjoyed wine tasting and watching the Boston Red Sox.

Roland leaves his two daughters Dianne Hinaris of Woodstock, Vermont and Janet Lecuyer of Brookings, Oregon and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brothers William, Norman and Eugene Lecuyer and his sister Evelyn Rezendes.

A grave-side service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 10am in Saint Joseph Cemetery 475 East Britannia St, Taunton MA 02780. Relatives and friends may meet at the main entrance of the cemetery at 9:30am.
