Ronald F. DeCosta, age 88 of North Dighton, passed away on June 27, 2021.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary “Madeline” (Pontes) DeCosta.
Ronald was born in Taunton the son of the late Frank and Madeline (Henriques) DeCosta.
Before retiring in 1992, Mr. DeCosta was employed with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a heavy equipment operator with the Dept. of Public Works.
He was a proud Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He and his late wife enjoyed spending winters in FL and summers in Cape Cod. Ronald was an avid fisherman and a loving and caring man who was devoted to his family.
He is survived by his loving son: Ronald D. DeCosta and his companion Marian of Utica, NY , several nieces and nephews including his niece Sharon Gosson who was a loving care giver. He was also the grandfather of the late David DeCosta and the brother of the late Norman DeCosta and Natalie Gosson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10 am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church Spring Street in North Dighton. Relatives and friends may meet directly at church at 9:45am. Interment with military honors will follow in the Dighton veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to a charity of one’s choice in Ronald’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
