Ronald Anthony Lopes, age 89 of Raynham, MA, passed away on May 25, 2025, at the Brockton VA Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Motta) Lopes of 54 Winter Street, Taunton MA, and the husband of 55 years of the late Payao Lopes, who proceeded him in death on February 26, 2023. He was the father of Gina Lopes, Ronald Lopes Jr., Rhonda Lopes, Kulnathee Ifill, the brother of the late John Lopes, Jeanette Barboza, Robert (Bobby) Lopes, and is survived by his sister Donna Bell and her husband Steve Bell of Las Vegas, Nevada. Ronald was the father-in-law of Kathy Lopes and the grandfather of Kasia Ifill, Kaison Ifill, Kat Ifill, Dionna and DeShaun Sims, Peyton Lopes, and great grandfather of Londyn Sims. Papa or Uncle Ronnie as he was affectionately called was the beloved cousin of the late Daniel Silvia and his wife Patricia Silvia, and the late Sonny Fontes of Taunton. He left behind several nieces and nephews including Shelly Offley and her husband Keith Offley, Robert Barboza and family, and several other nieces and nephews here in Massachusetts and around the country.

Ronnie spent 24 years in the United States Airforce rising the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Military Police, while serving in Korea and Vietnam. Stationed in Thailand, it is there where he met and married is late wife Payao Lopes. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as Federal Protective Service Police Officer with the General Services Administration protecting Federal Courts in Boston and Providence. Ronnie loved country music and enjoyed all things Red Sox, New England Patriots, and adored Celtics basketball. He enjoyed his Koi fishpond and loved to fix and repair anything that had a small engine or motor. He will always be remembered and loved by all who knew him for his great sense of humor and loved of the game horseshoes.

Funeral Services will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
