Ronald Robert Rose (Ronnie), 88, of Taunton, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Florence (Silva) Rose for over 60 years.

Born in Taunton, he was a son of the late Alfred and Ruth (Marchant) Rose.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Ronnie served as a sergeant with the American Land Forces, Middle East in Lebanon and aboard the escort carrier USS Tarawa. His career was spent in manufacturing as a silver solderer for various local companies including Reed & Barton and Poole Silver.

Ronnie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. When he was 50, he achieved a lifelong dream of raising mink, and at the age of 70 he began successfully cultivating blueberries.

He and Florence were active members of Plainville Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, Ronnie is survived by his sons, David Rose and his wife Wendy of Centerville, Bruce Rose and his wife Elizabeth of Taylors, SC, and Eric Rose and his wife Heidi of Piedmont, SC; siblings, Raymond Rose, Janice Labrecque, Ruth Ann Rose, Helen Pelletier and Debbie Faria, all of Taunton; and grandchildren, Alexander Rose, Tyler Rose and his wife Hayley, Zachary Rose, Jonathan Rose and Timothy Rose. He was also brother of the late Alfred Rose, Gerald Rose, Thomas Rose, Philip Rose, Barry Rose, David Rose and Linda Coelho.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 17th at 10:30am at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, where his Funeral Service will take place at 11:00am. Interment with Military Honors to follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
