NORTH ATTLEBORO - Ruffina M. (Gonsalves) Pickering of Norton, wife of the late Henry R. Pickering, died at the Madonna Manor on June 3, 2016.
She was 84.
Born, raised, and educated in Norton, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Eugenie (Silva) Gonsalves.
She owned and operated Flowers by Fina for many years, retiring in 2011.
Most of all, she was a stay at home mom.
A communicant of St. Mary Church, she loved oil painting, gardening, being a girl scout leader, crafts, and the 4-H club.
She is survived by four daughters, Deborah Malachowski and her husband Stanley of Lincoln, RI; Laura-Ann Donna and her husband Rob of Foxboro, Martha Camire of Norton, and Jenna Pickering also of Norton; one sister, Mary Gonsalves of Norton; four grandchildren, Diana Malachowski of RI; Amanda Malachowski of OR; Rusty Camire and his fiance' Allison Schallert of Melrose, and Ryan Camire of Melrose; several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Edward, Tony, Peter, John and Roland Gonsalves, Alice Laroque and Margaret Shaw.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, June 10th at 8:45 a.m. followed by her funeral mass at St. Mary Church, Norton at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Common Cemetery in Norton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 9th from 4 to 7 p.m.
