ROWLEY, MA / LAWRENCE, MA - Ruth (Annal) Prentice, wife of the late Frederick James Frederick, Jr., died at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on March 1, 2010.
She was 74.
Born in Cambridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Annal.
Raised and educated in Cambridge, she also resided for a time in Lawrence, MA and Rehoboth, MA.
Mrs. Prentice was a homemaker for most of her adult life and enjoyed crafts, genealogy, and communicating with her online friends.
She leaves two sons, Phillip S. Prentice of Nashua, NH, and Herbert J. Prentice of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Jodi M. Goff and her husband Stephen K. of Taunton; two sisters, Doris Hersey of Dracut, MA and Elsie LaFrance of North Andover, MA; six grandchildren, Jennifer M. Prentice of Nashua, Jamie M. Prentice of Taunton, Nicholas H. Davis of Taunton, Matthew F. Davis of Taunton, Scott P. Prentice, and Tyler J. Prentice; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Betty, John, David, Norman, Mary, Florence, James, and Barbara.
Traditional funeral services and calling hours are respectfully omitted.
Cremation will take place at Woodlawn Crematory, Attleboro, MA.
Memorial services are pending finalization, and will be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Prentice's memory may be made to the Salvation Army of MA, 25 Shawmut Road, Canton, MA 02021.
