Ruth (Freitas) Silva, age 92, passed away peacefully at LifeCare Center of Raynham. .
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Francisco B. and Maria Concerta (Ferreira) Freitas. Ruth was educated in the Taunton schools and was a communicant of the Annunciation of the Lord Church. Ruth enjoyed golf, bowling, and was a member of the Club 55 Bowling League for many years.
Ruth also worked many years at Rennie Curtain Mfg. and later at Arley Curtain before retiring.
Ruth was married for 53 years to George S. Silva who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by all her siblings and their spouses.Ruth leaves behind a son, George S. Silva, Jr. of Attleboro; a daughter, Karen O'Connor and her husband, David of North Dighton. Ruth also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Anthony, Danielle (and her husband Jay), Kelly (and her husband Matthew), Scott (and his wife Jenna).
She also leaves behind 7 great grandchildren, Hannah, Nathaniel, Aubrey, Benjamin, Isabella, Jackson, and Abigail.
We wish to thank the Nursing Staff at Life Care who took care of all our Mother's daily needs, also the PT Staff who tried to keep our Mother as strong as possible. Thanks also to the Activities Department Staff (with special thanks to Jessica who our Mother became quite fond of), our Mother enjoyed participating daily in the games or crafts scheduled.
Mrs. Silva’s funeral with visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 10am with a service to begin at 11am in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.
Interment will be held privately in Francis Cemetery, North Walker Street, Taunton.
