Scott Joseph Ferreira

Scott Joseph Ferreira, age 53, passed away at home in Raynham on Monday, March 19, 2018.

He was born on April 23, 1964 in Taunton to Dolores (Butler) Ferreira and the late Joseph Ferreira.

Scott was a 1983 graduate of Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School, and went on to a long time career as an electrician, including working at Reed and Barton in Taunton.

Scott was extremely proud that the week of his passing, he celebrated 22 years of sobriety, which was a battle he won through help from his friends and sheer determination. Scott's interests were many and varied-he was a huge fan of the late rock guitarist Randy Rhoads and a long time WWE fan since he was a child. His favorite wrestler was The Undertaker, for whom he amassed a massive collection of memorabilia. Scott was also a large collector of insulators and electrical ephemera.

He belonged to national insulator collectors societies, and along with his friends Jimmy and Jeff, traveled to insulator shows across the northeast. Scott also enjoyed karaoke nights at Escapades, and could be heard belting out tunes almost every week.

He was also a devout Catholic, attending mass at St. Ann's Church in Raynham every morning, where he was well liked by Father Murray and the other parishioners.

He also spent several hours a day visiting with his mother at Wedgemere, after being her caregiver for several years at home.

Besides his mother, Scott is survived by his brother Thomas and his sister-in-law Valerie of North Conway, NH, his nephew Derek Ferreira, his wife Tiera, and their daughter Autumn of Albany, NH, his nephew Robert Ferreira, his wife Felicia and their son Gabriel of Augusta, ME, step-nephew Kimball Rowell of Conway, NH, and step-nieces Kristina Rowell and Crystal Rowell of Brooklyn, NY, also his Uncle Martin and Diane Butler of Raynham and Uncle Norman and Evelyn Butler of Florida, along with many cousins.

Private cremation with a memorial service TBA. Details will be posted here when they are finalized.
