TAUNTON - Sergio A. DaSilva, the husband of Jacqueline V. (Gagnon) DaSilva, died at Morton Hospital on June 28, 2009, after a short struggle with cancer.
He was 56.
Whether it was spending time fishing on his boat, working outside in the yard, or just enjoying watching the Patriots on TV, Sergio was a man full of life.
Born in Santa Maria, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Liduina (Avelar) DaSilva.
Educated and raised in the Azores, he moved to this area in 1970, and served in The National Guard for six years.
Mr. DaSilva was employed as a truck driver by Comcast in Plymouth for the past 11 years.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Paula Silva of Taunton, and Suzanne Moore and her husband Phil of Bourne; a stepson, Robert Ferreira of Taunton; a brother, Henrique DaSilva and his wife Helena of Lisbon, Portugal; a sister, Vivalda Robens and her husband Albano of E. Taunton; a granddaughter, Ashley Ann Moore; two nephews, Rui DaSilva and Eric Robens; and two nieces, Krystal and Julie Robens.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at St. Anthony Church on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 9 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
