Shirley (Horta) Stempka, age 75 of East Taunton, passed away on June 2, 2025 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Stempka.
Born in Taunton, Shirley was the daughter of the late John and Laura (Willette) Horta.
Before retiring, Shirley was employed with Paul A. Dever School as a LPN.
She enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis Presley and the Platters, doing crossword puzzles, and going out to lunch with her son in law Allan Tracy and her childhood friend Jackie. Most of all, she loved spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her loving children, Constance Marie Fernandez and husband Allan, Laura Branco, Grandmother of Michael Fernandez, Christopher Fernandez, Zachary Branco, Amanda Fernandez and husband Fonzie, Alexandra Hernandez, great-grandmother of Samantha Hernandez. Sister of Laura, Linda, and Ann Wetherell, sister-in-law of Joseph Stempka and his wife Ann as well as many nieces and nephews. Shirley is also survived by her beloved dog Henry and a best friend Jackie Oliveira.
Mrs. Stempka’s funeral will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 9am with a funeral home service at 10am.
Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:30pm.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
