Listen to Obituary

Susan Andrade (Desrochers), 80 of Taunton, Ma has left an imprint on those that knew and loved her.

Susan grew up in Leominster, Ma then moved to Taunton as a girl with her family.

Susan loved to travel with her husband, Kenny of 58 years. They travelled all over the world creating lasting memories together. They visited Portugal with Susan’s sister Mary and Brother-in-law Manny, took a river cruise down the Rhein with family, along with lifelong friends Charlie and Sandy. Her favorite trip though was Walt Disney World with her grandchildren, Kyle, Hailey and Ashley. That trip brought her such joy, watching her three little loves nonstop. The amount of trips she shared with her husband and friends is too extensive to list. The memories and bonds they created on these trips are forever lasting and special.

Susan leaves behind her husband Kenny Andrade, daughters Kelly Souza, with her husband Jeff and Michele Andrade. Sue’s pride and joys her grandchildren Kyle, Hailey, and Ashley along with Hailey’s fiance Steven. Her sisters Claire “Betsy” Travers, husband Arthur “Bitz”, Michele Higgins, husband Peter. Mary Peixoto, husband Manny along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by brother Thomas Desrochers.

Susan was the proud owner of Jet 1 hour Dry Cleaners on Main St, Taunton back in the 80s. It brought her such pleasure to have her two daughters Kelly and Michele along with her niece Jennifer and husband Kenny work beside her in the family business.

Later on she became the Assistant Head Baker for the Raynham school system. She truly loved this job. Although to her this wasn’t a job. She loved to see the kids each day and give a special treat to someone that she thought might need a little something extra to brighten their day. It truly brought her joy.

Sue loved to camp. She and Kenny camped for many years at Bourne Scenic park. Where they made lots of life long friendships. If you didn’t see Susan out and about, you knew where to find her, she’d always be in the kitchen cooking, ready to feed an army. When she wasn’t cooking Sue enjoyed thrifting with her grandchildren or with her sister Betsy. Her grandkids referred to it as “shopping at the junk stores.”

Family was the center of Susan’s life. She would take weekend getaways with her sisters. That was a comedy within itself.

Susan was often referred to as “Saint Susan.” She was sweet, easy going, generous, strong and stubborn when she needed to be. Life has thrown many obstacles Susan’s way, including her fight against breast cancer which she beat with such strength and a stubborn determination. She never once complained or felt sorry for herself. Sue always had a smile for you and not to mention her little giggle. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday. This day she’d get up early and prepare a feast. Her sister Michele would bring their mother Claire over so they could share some laughs. When the football game ended her sister Michele’s husband Peter would bring their five sons Peter, Patrick, Micheal, Brian and Matthew over to regale the family with a play by play of the game. She would sit in awe listening to the Shenanigans the boys would encounter.

Susan’s life was full of love, generosity, compassion, and grace. She will be deeply missed by all that came into her life.

Susan’s Funeral with visitation will be held on Thursday, JUNE 4, 2026 at 9am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Saint Jude the Apostle Church, 249 Whittenton Street, Taunton.
