Susan (Shewalter) Hite

Susan (Shewalter) Hite, age 79 of Taunton, passed away at her residence on February 4, 2025. Born on April 2, 1945 in Alhambra, CA, Susan was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Gellinck) Shewalter. Susan was a loving Mother, Grandmother & Great-grandmother. Susan truly knew that it was more blessed to give than receive. Susan was an avid cross stitch sewer & loved to gift her sewings to her family and friends for all the holiday’s. These special pictures, baby blankets and ornaments are something her family will cherish forever. Susan worked many years at Washington Mutual in the mortgage loan department. Before retiring, she was employed with JC Penny’s, in the credit & catalog department. She thoroughly enjoyed working and created lifelong friendships while doing so. Susan spent a lot of her time cooking and baking with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching sports, especially golf and of course, her Patrick Mahomes. When she wasn't sewing, she spent time doing crossword puzzles, watching court TV & General Hospital. Susan was the beloved mother of Kelly O’Malley and her husband Stephen of Raynham, MA and Christian Hite of Riverside, CA. Grandmother of Chelsea Pomfret & her husband Matthew of Rehoboth, MA, Stephen O’Malley and his fiance Meghan Foley, Brendan O’Malley, and Vesper Hite. Great-grandmother of Madeline Pomfret. She was the sister of Sally Johnson and her husband Bob of Carlsbad, CA. She also left behind two nephews and their spouses. Although Susan is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
