Teresinha (Serpa) Freitas, age 88 of East Taunton, passed away on May 28, 2026 at the Life Care Center of Raynham with her loving family by his side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Freitas who passed in 2020.
Teresinha was born in Flores, Azores the daughter of the late manuel and Amelia (Serpa) Martins
Before retiring, Mrs. Freitas was employed with Datel Company in Mansfield for many years. Mrs. Freitas enjoyed Gardening, growing flowers, knitting and cooking. Most of all she cherished time spent with her family especially the holidays.
Teresinha is survived by his loving children; Jose Freitas of Taunton, Maria Hughes of Norton and Fatima Fortuna of East Taunton. She was the grandmother of Cesar, Miguel, Susan and Marcio, great-grandmother of Aryonah, Jaymeson, Constance, Soleil, Noah, Christian, Jagger, Maddox , Aria, Leo, Jude, Luna Belle and baby Freitas who will be born soon, she was also the great-great-grandmother of Nova and the grandmother of the late Christopher Freitas. She was also the sister of the late Antonio, Francisco, Domingos, Jose and Maria Martins.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am celebrated by her nephew, Fr. Christopher Hughes in Annunciation of the Lord Church, Taunton.
Interment will follow in the Saint Martha & Mary section of Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 1 st from 4 to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to the Saint Vincent dePaul Society of Annunciation Church in her memory, would be deeply appreciated.
