Thelma L. (Perry) Sherman

Thelma L. (Perry) Sherman, age 94 of North Dighton, passed away on February 6, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Sherman, Sr.

Thelma was born in Bridgewater, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Paiva) Perry, Sr.

Thelma was a 1944 graduate of Taunton High School.

Before retiring, Mrs. Sherman was employed as head telephone operator with Paul A. Dever as well as a receptionist   at Marian Manor.

Mrs. Sherman was a communicant of Saint Nicholas of Myra Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a lector as well as a member of the Woman’s Guild. Thelma was also a lay person at the Dominican Sisters in Dighton. Thelma was proud to be a recipient of the Marian Medal.

Mrs. Sherman is survived by her loving children; Robert Sherman, Jr and his wife Kathy of Taunton, James Sherman and his late wife Marcia of Attleboro, Thomas Sherman and his wife Dawn of FL and Charles Sherman and his Companion Deana Sheppard of North Dighton, grandmother of 9, great-grandmother of 9. She was also the sister of Louis Perry of Bridgewater and Anna Mae Rose of Carver. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Perry, Jr.

Thelma’s funeral will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 8;30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church Spring Street, North Dighton.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 12th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery, Glebe Street in Taunton.

During all the services, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
