TAUNTON - Tobias A. Araujo, husband of Maria Lurdes Tavares Pereira Araujo, died at his Taunton home on Aug 25, 2011.
He was 78.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Francisco and Maria (Santos Sousa) Ambrosia Araujo.
Mr. Araujo moved to Taunton from the Azores in January of 1968.
He was employed by the Harodite Finishing Co. for twenty-four years, retiring in 1996.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mr. Araujo enjoyed gardening in his spare time.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves two daughters, Maria Auclair and her husband Joshua, and Anna M. Araujo, all of Taunton; three sisters, Maria Lurdes Cambra of Canada, Deolinda Furtado and Maria da Conceicao Lourenco, both of St. Michael, Azores; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Marta Maria McGrath.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Aug. 31st at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 30th from 6 to 8 p.m.
